From November 11th to 14th, 2014, the 12th Michelin Challenge Bibendum was held in Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province in China.
As one of the chief sponsors, Saint-Gobain participated the event together with its 3 major business units consisting of Sekurit, PPL (SolarGard) and Abrasives. Apart from the onsite exhibition of our major products, such as auto glass, auto window film, bearings & seals, grinding wheels, diamond rollers, and sending belts/sheets from Norton and Winter, we also grabbed this opportunity to warm up Saint-Gobain 350 anniversary: Founded in 1665, Saint-Gobain will celebrate its 350 anniversary in 2015 with grand ceremonies worldwide.
Michelin Challenge Bibendum was a big hit within the industry. Mr. Javier Gimeno, General Delegate of Saint-Gobain Asia Pacific, visited the booths and accepted local media interviews onsite. He believes that the auto-related business of Saint-Gobain in China will keep a stable growth in the recent future. Furthermore, he is looking forward to sharing the historic moment of Saint-Gobain 350 anniversary celebration with the public in Shanghai next January.
As one of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between China and France, Michelin Challenge Bibendum also earned great supports from Michelin Group, European Union and the provincial government of Sichuan province. Senior leaders like global CEO of Michelin Group, former chairman of European Union Parliament and the current chief Governor of Sichuan province all attended the grand opening ceremony of this event.
